Capt Dave ( Dave Arlit ) lost his battle with cancer early this morning. Dave was the guy, regardless of weather, always perched up on the bowsprit. If you have taken a few trips with us, I’m sure you probably met him. I can’t count the times in a season, when someone calling for reservations, would say, “ put me in the bow next to Dave “ Dave started fishing with us about 26-27 years ago when we were sailing out of Newburyport, and we’ve been great friends since. There have been a lot of crew mates come and gone in those years, but I knew come spring, Dave would be back in the bow and helping navigate the Bird. Tight lines bud, we’ll miss you dearly.
